Citizenship Preparation

This class will prepare foreign-born students who want to become U.S. citizens for their citizenship interview with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Students are instructed on the naturalization process, and interview and test. Course content includes United States history, government and culture with a focus on vocabulary development and civics. The course also readies students to answer ten out of a possible one hundred questions selected by the INS interviewer. U.S. citizenship offers many benefits and equally important responsibilities. By taking this course, students prepare to fulfill requirements for citizenship and gain the knowledge and the confidence to pass the official citizenship test. Citizenship classes are held the Norwich Regional Adult Education Side Building.

  • Prepares students to answer the 100 possible questions from the USCIS interviewer

  • Learn about United States history, government and culture

  • Leads students through application process including filling out forms and needed documents
